Why mediums make mistakes is a paradox which occurs when any of us are in touch with the spirit world, not just mediums. The fact that only the truth obtains in the Spirit World explains why mistakes are made here. All of us, when we die, carry our true nature and character over to the other side, and over there this is clearly seen and cannot be hidden. So paradoxically, the cheating and deceit and evil nature we may be able to hide while living on earth clearly reveals itself in the Spirit World. Such people cannot travel far to the higher frequencies of the spiritual dimensions until they have purified themselves, or gone through a period of purgatory and willingly reformed themselves. Many spirits delay this need for reform and either become earthbound, or continue their attempt to influence our world with their evil ways. It is such deceivers whom unwitting mediums may contact and be influenced by in giving messages and philosophy, and so they will receive unauthentic or inaccurate information to impart. These deceivers will play on our vanity. This is why we are told by higher spirits to attune first of all to our spirit guides and have the highest motives for wanting to contact the Spirit World. Only in this way will we get beyond the low-level deceivers who may play havoc with our weaknesses and vanities.
This is why the orthodox churches have condemned the work of mediums outright. They fear the consequences of contacting evil influences, seen sometimes as demons or Satan himself ! Yet in trying to ban all contact with the Spirit World, apart from direct contact with God or his prophets, the church blocks the chance of our receiving news from our recently deceased loved ones, some of whom desperately try to attract our attention to say they are still alive, are OK and for us not to be too distraught by their demise.
That we die with our personality unchanged, as it continues to live on in the Spirit World, was demonstrated in a recent reading by Theresa Caputo in her “Long Island Medium” television documentary series. She was giving a reading to the mother and sister of a married lady who had been abused and murdered by her husband. Theresa was told all the violent details by the spirit of the lady, as she died protecting her children, now looked after by her mother and sister. The husband, a violent evil person had then taken his own life. Although Theresa’s spirit guides usually blocked and protected her from low spirits, they allowed her to see and hear this husband’s spirit for the evidence. He was disgustingly profane, swearing profusely at her. This was enough to convince the sitters that it was really him….he and the wife he had murdered were present. This also shows us that evil spirits are indeed able to obsess us, if we are unprotected by our spirit guides, or by our own higher level of spirituality. These low spirits need to reform, and in some cases can be “rescued” in séances, or special healing groups, but it is better to send them back into the light and not converse with them. They will be taken care of in the Spirit World, where they will go to a region appropriate for their level of development.
So it can be seen that a medium may appear to make a mistake, by channeling the untruths of a low, deceiving spirit, making it seem as if the Spirit World can be an evil place of deception. The truth of the matter is that the unreformed souls, still retaining their evil ways when they die, come back to haunt us, if they are able to latch on to our weaknesses. We can only retaliate by sending them love and firmly reject their advances, and hand them over to higher spiritual authorities, who know better how to deal with them.
